Herb Silver, PT, DSc, OCS is a physical therapist and a board-certified Clinical Orthopedic Specialist. He practiced and was trained in sports medicine and manual therapy at the internationally recognized Hughston Orthopedic Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. In 2009 he completed an advanced research doctorate in electrophysiology and completed research on dry-needling interventions.
Dr. Silver specializes in the evaluation and treatment of complicated neck and back pain as well as general orthopedic and sports-related injuries. With an undergraduate degree in psychology, Dr. Silver has had a lifelong interest in mindfulness practices including meditation, yoga, and Tai chi which he incorporates into treatment strategies. He emphasizes a “whole-person” focus on the treatment and prevention of both acute and chronic physical pain, weakness, imbalance, and injury.
Dr. Silver has served on faculty at Georgia State University and North Georgia College teaching orthopedics, physical therapy interventions, electrotherapy, and electrophysiology. His postgraduate lecture topics include dry needling, orthopedic manual therapy interventions for the neck and low back and electrophysiology. He is presently an adjunct clinical associate professor at Mercer University and is presently involved in research with the Mercer Pharmacy department.
Brie Levy PT, DPT is a physical therapist with a wide range of clinical experience treating various patient populations. A Florida native, she graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Exercise Science. While there, Dr. Levy was a member of The Seminole Dance Force, a competitive college dance team. She then moved to Atlanta and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mercer University where she is currently completing her orthopedic residency and training to become a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
Her treatment style combines patient-centered care and open communication to achieve goals that are meaningful to her patients. She is a compassionate and caring therapist who believes in providing each patient with extensive education on the nature of their compliant as well as exercises and tools to help with injury prevention. Her interests in the field of Physical Therapy are diverse, but she has a special interest in rehabilitating balance and walking problems that arise from injury, orthopedic disorders, neurological disorders, and vestibular dysfunction.
